The trail is a true escape from the everyday, with beautiful wildflowers and wildlife that include Columbian ground squirrels; marmots; red foxes; white-tailed ptarmigans and pikas. Tourists are treated to views of Pikes Peak and the Catamount Reservoirs that are unbeatable, and hikers have the chance to see wildlife such as deer, elk and coyote.
